What is Plasma Pen Therapy?
Plasma Therapy is a procedure designed to improve the effects of ageing skin and is the gentle alternative to skin tightening surgery. It can be used to treat many different areas of the skin to include:

• Under eye bags
• Forehead lines

• Nose to mouth lines

How does it work?
The treatment uses a hand-held pen device which generates plasma where a visible smoke is produced, as a result of the sublimating process. Sublimation is the physical term for the shift from solid to gas. The device heats the dermis which begins to shed post-treatment, allowing new fresher skin to form. At the same time, new collagen begins to form resulting in smoother, tighter and younger looking skin.
Does it hurt?
The treatment may be a little uncomfortable and sensitive depending on where you are being treated; especially eyelid procedures where the skin is at its thinnest. Our device and our super-fine probes allow our practitioners to work more quickly and efficiently which minimises potential discomfort for you, but this all depends on your own sensitivities and tolerances. In order to reduce any discomfort, we will apply numbing cream to the treatment area 20 minutes prior to your procedure.
Are there any side effects?
The formation of brown/black crusts on the skin surface will occur. These crusts will fall off in a few days (usually 5 – 7 days). In addition there may be some mild swelling, especially around the eyes and periorbital region. Swelling for 1 to 5 days post-treatment is normal, but is usually of a very minor nature. Post-treatment downtime and recovery after Plasma Pen treatment is frequently shown to be superior to treatment with other devices.
How long do results last?
Results are designed to last for up to three years, so the Plasma Pen treatment is more cost-effective and offers a much quicker recovery time than traditional surgical methods.
